Good boat trip, don't do it in the rain! The cave are more like hollows in the cliffs but the "blue" is clear and bright. Go see for yourself. Full review by Hughie C

The boat trip is an absolutely fantastic experience to view the Blue Grotto and range of other caves / arches. The cliffs and scenery is stunning. The blue is so beautiful. If you get the opportunity… Full review by CLE68

The views are awesome, and the Blue Grotto boat experience is good value for money (it costs just 10 euros for adults). I would suggest that if you do go near the blue grotto, the boat tour is recomm… Full review by Atri C
Hi, We have a family of 6, 4 adults and 2 kids under 4 and we will be arriving by cruise ship around 1 pm on November 27, 2019. I am looking for a boat tour to the Blue Lagoon in the afternoon. Do you know of any tour for early or late afternoon? Such as sunset tour? Thanks.

You can easily take a taxi to the blue grotto if there are no organised tours from your ship or separately. Several taxis are big enough for your group, though they'll need to wait for you while you do the boat trip – allow half an hour and get a quote off the taxi driver first. However, a late afternoon trip may not work if your ship is not going to be in the harbour through the evening / overnight - ours needed everyone back on board by 17:30 and boarding a lot of people takes quite a time if its a big boat, plus the traffic in and out of Valletta is dreadful so getting back could be very slow and risk arriving back at the ship too late.
Hi, is it only one company that provides boat tours to the Blue Grotto? Read quite a few bad reviews and would prefer not to be rushed or deal with rude owner

Like the others have stated, there is a ticket booth near the boats. It about 3/4 of the way down the hill and is well marked. Tickets cost 8 euros per person and the vendor advised us not to pay any additional money to the boat operators and to report it if they ask for any "extra costs". There will be a guy who puts you in a queue and assigns a boat to you (next to the boat launch). Life jackets are provided on the boats. Enjoy!
Could anyone tell me the best way to travel here from Sliema please? We are only in Malta from a short time so would like the quickest, cheapest option.

Get a taxi as this is the quickest way. Bus will take too long
