The shooting erupted Saturday afternoon in the engineering building of the Ivy League school in Providence, Rhode Island, during final exams.

"I have been briefed on the shooting the took place at Brown University in Rhode Island. The FBI is on the scene," President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social. "God bless the victims and the families of the victims.

It’s when finals loom, suitcases start appearing in dormitory hallways, and the restaurants along Thayer Street are packed late into the night as students from Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design study and plan their trips home for holiday break.
