Cold weather alerts are affecting 69 million people from the Midwest to the Gulf Coast, while 5 million people face new flood watches in the Pacific Northwest.

On Sunday at 4:51 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a cold weather advisory valid from 9 p.m. until Monday 9 a.m. for Carbon and Monroe counties.

A cold weather advisory and a wind advisory have been issued for the Jacksonville area and coastal Duval County. The cold weather advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. ET and the wind advisory until 9 a.m. "Sub-freezing temperatures are expected" for inland Northeast Florida.

Arctic air moves over the mid-state causing temperatures to take a drastic dive Sunday and Monday. A Cold Weather Advisory is in place as a result of the brutal wind chills.

Chicago residents should prepare for a dangerous cold as a Cold Weather Advisory took effect at 8 p.m. on Saturday through noon Sunday, with wind chills dropping to minus 26 degrees.
