BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Severe storms last week caused 22 Kentuckians to lose their life. Gov. Andy Beshear made that announcement today while giving an update on the state’s response to severe winter weather. The latest confirmed fatality was a man in Marshall County who died due to hypothermia, per the release.

The death toll in the storms that devastated Kentucky over the weekend has risen to 14 — and the impacted communities will have to brace for more winter weather.

Governor Andy Beshear announced the additional losses in a post on social media over the weekend. He also asked for those who are able to give to the Team Kentucky Storm Relief Fund

A winter weather advisory is in effect for the following Kentucky and Indiana counties from 7 p.m. Tuesday until noon Wednesday: Oldham, Trimble, Henry, Harrison, Nicholas. Clark, Orange, Washington, Scott, Jefferson, Dubois, Crawford, Harrison, Floyd.

The death toll from Kentucky’s severe weather beginning Feb. 14 has continued to rise. On Tuesday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced another storm-related death, bringing the total loss of life in Kentucky from 22 to 23.
