Before Kiffin’s decision came down to staying at Ole Miss or leaping for LSU, though, there was the Florida job. The Gators hired Tulane’s Jon Sumrall Sunday, but Kiffin was in the running for the job not too long ago, declining a significant offer to head to Florida.
Lane Kiffin ended weeks of speculation on Sunday when he announced that he would be taking the job at LSU, ending his time at Ole Miss. Those weren’t the only two potential landing spots in the mix over the last several weeks. Kiffin was also linked to Florida, a job that he of course ultimately did not take.
