On Thursday, the exodus continued, as offensive lineman Rocco Spindler and Pat Coogan have now entered the portal and will play their final season somewhere other than South Bend.

Freeman is regarded as one of the best young coaches in the game, and the culture that he has created in South Bend since taking over for Brian Kelly at Notre Dame is second to none. Because of that, these transfers from starters raise eyebrows, to say the least.

South Bend, Ind. – Notre Dame offensive lineman Pat Coogan, who started 26 games over the last two seasons and often served as the team's pregame hype man, is transferring. Coogan announced his intentions on social media Thursday and will have one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer.
