When Will Smith — the other pillar of this franchise’s future and Celebrini’s winger — took a tough (but clean) hit from Penguins defenseman Parker Wotherspoon with 16:35 to play in the third and the Sharks only down 4-1 (they’d go up 5-1 on the subsequent power play), it was Celebrini who stepped in to defend his teammate.

The Sharks completed a stunning 6-5 comeback win over the Penguins, but the team suffered an injury blow as Will Smith left with a shoulder injury.
Pittsburgh Penguins rookie goaltender Arturs Silovs is scheduled to start Saturday’s home game against the San Jose Sharks at PPG Paints Arena. Coach Dan Muse announced Silovs’ status approximately two hours before the opening faceoff.
