An architect of Memphis soul, Cropper made his guitar sing and sting. And as a songwriter, he collaborated on more than a few indelible anthems.
In 2024, Cropper released the album Friendlytown under his band name, Steve Cropper and the Midnight Hour. The album went on to receive a Grammy nomination. Most recently, he was honored with the Tennessee Governor’s Arts Award.
