White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles revealed internal tensions in the Trump administration over issues from immigration enforcement to government downsizing in comments published by Vanity Fair on Tuesday that paint an unflattering picture of the role played by some of President Donald Trump's close aides.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt accuses Vanity Fair of fake news and omitting positive statements about President Donald Trump from Susie Wiles interview coverage.

“Why Vanity Fair,” wondered one White House official, who, like others in this story, was granted anonymity to speak candidly about the fallout. “They’ve never been remotely good to us.” They added it was “very, very odd.”
