Ricky Saints surprisingly lost the WWE NXT Championship to Oba Femi at the NXT Deadline event on December 6, 2025.

Femi's win has big implications for "Saturday Night's Main Event," which will take place on Dec. 13. The newly minted NXT titleholder will now meet Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes inside Capital One Arena in Washington. The match will be held on the same night as John Cena's retirement.

Starting the in-ring action of WWE NXT’s Deadline Premium Live Event was the NXT Championship bout between Oba Femi and the champion Ricky Saints. It was a back-and-forth bout, but in the end, Femi put Saints away to regain the NXT Title. Femi is now a two-time NXT Champion.
