Ricky Saints surprisingly lost the WWE NXT Championship to Oba Femi at the NXT Deadline event on December 6, 2025.
Femi's win has big implications for "Saturday Night's Main Event," which will take place on Dec. 13. The newly minted NXT titleholder will now meet Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes inside Capital One Arena in Washington. The match will be held on the same night as John Cena's retirement.

Cody Rhodes is currently putting together a compelling run as WWE Champion, showcasing his qualities in the ring, on the microphone, and as a company representative. However, the American Nightmare cannot hold the title forever, especially when there's such a talented roster of wrestlers all working hard to get a shot at the gold.
