The long-term forecast models have it shifting from its westward path and turning back north becoming a potential threat from Jamaica to Hispaniola.

Tropical Storm Melissa formed in the Caribbean Sea on Tuesday as forecasters warned that heavy rain, flooding and strong winds could hit Haiti and Jamaica later this week.

The advisory said Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, Jamaica and Cuba should monitor the progress of this disturbance, as it poses a risk of heavy rain, flooding, strong winds and rough surf.
