SANAA, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's Houthi military spokesperson said in a statement on Thursday that the group had launched a ballistic missile towards Ben Gurion Airport in central Israel, which was reportedly intercepted by Israel's defense systems earlier in the day.
Israel has launched airstrikes on Yemen’s Hodeidah port and other Houthi-held areas, warning of more attacks as tensions in the region rise and violence spreads into Red Sea shipping lanes.
Meanwhile, two explosive devices were detonated against Israeli soldiers during an operation in the Beit Hanoun area in northern Gaza, killing five soldiers and injuring 14 more. The soldiers have been named as Meir Shimon Amar, Moshe Nissim Frech and Noam Aharon Musgadian, all aged 20, Benyamin Asulin, 28, and Moshe Shmuel Noll, 21.
