The ICC hit the MCG pitch with the second-lowest rating, after the fourth Ashes Test finished on day two.

According to ICC, Rashid Khan currently leads the ODI bowlers’ rankings for 2025 with 710 points. England’s fast bowler Jofra Archer is ranked second, followed by India’s spinner Kuldeep Yadav in third place. Rashid Khan had also finished 2024 as the leading ODI bowler.
The judgement means the MCG has been given one demerit point by the ICC that will stay on record for five years. The venue would need to be hit with another five demerit points in the next five years to be banned from hosting international matches, meaning Crowe's rating is essentially a minor ticking off.
In 2020, the ICC introduced a rule that stated only players who were 15 or above could represent their national teams. While there were cases for certain exceptions, the rule was pretty much ironclad. That is the reason why Vaibhav, at present, cannot be picked.
