A winter storm is looming. What's the latest forecast?
"A major winter storm will bring heavy snow, freezing rain, and strong winds to parts of northern Michigan through Monday. Blizzard-like conditions and dangerous travel are expected across parts of the area Monday, so be sure to check the latest forecast for updates," the NWS in Gaylords said on X on Dec. 28.

Winter storm warning in Broome County. See NWS radar and forecast
Winter storm warnings were issued by the National Weather Service office in Binghamton and remain in effect until 7 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27. The warning applies to Broome, Delaware, Chenango, Cortland, Otsego and Sullivan counties.
The National Weather Service said two more impulses will move through the area with the potential for flooding in the burn scar areas.
Acting Governor Tahesha Way declared a State of Emergency effective 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, due to a winter storm. The storm is expected to cause dangerous weather conditions, including heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain.
A powerful post-holiday storm is tracking east, set to deliver heavy rain, ice and strong winds, increasing the risk of flash flooding and in its wake, possibly feet of lake-effect snow. Blizzard Warnings are up for portions of the Midwest.
