New York City FC have signed 14-year-old midfielder Maximo Carrizo as a homegrown player, the club announced Monday, making him the youngest player to sign a first-team contract in MLS history.

Maximo Carrizo, who turned 14 on Monday, signed a homegrown contract with NYCFC to become the youngest ever to ink a deal in MLS history.

Carrizo penned a homegrown contract through the 2027 season with an option for 2028. A talented 14-year-old midfielder of Argentine heritage joined the NYCFC academy back in 2018 as a U-12 player.
