But it's not an exact science. Many things can affect a speed test, including whether or not you're using Wi-Fi or a hardwired Ethernet connection, the time of day you're running the test and so on.

To test the speed, open the link and click on Go. You will also see the name of your internet provider and your external IP address underneath the gauge.
