A winter storm threatens to bring blizzards and ice to parts of the U.S., hampering holiday travel
A powerful winter storm driven by a rapidly intensifying cyclone was sweeping east from the Plains on Sunday, bringing heavy snow, ice, rain and severe weather expected to affect much of the country.

"The best chances for heavy snow will be across the Upper Peninsula, and the snow belts of lower Michigan.
On Sunday at 10:43 a.m. EST the National Weather Service released a winter storm warning valid for Monday between 1 a.m. EST and 7 p.m. EST for Lake and Newaygo counties.
