Snow forecast for this weekend, winter weather advisory issued [Updated]
The discussion indicated a low pressure area over the Upper Great Lakes will push a cold front into southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey on Saturday night, bringing some snow. The amount of snow appears as if it will increase from northwest to southeast, the NWS forecasters said.

The reason Grand Rapids and Flint are now in the winter weather advisory is because some freezing rain accumulation is also being indicated on the southern edge of the all-snow area, combined with a few inches of snow.

Map shows how much snow the Pittsburgh area could get this weekend with winter storm watch issued
The National Weather Service said parts of the Pittsburgh area could see more than 6 inches of snow this weekend.
Wintry conditions developed in the late morning, bringing accumulating snowfall to areas south of Interstate 80, the National Weather Service said. Snow was largely expected between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., with most of the accumulation occurring between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
South of the winter weather advisory area we will have a four hour burst of heavy snow from midnight to 4 a.m. tonight. The snow should turn to rain toward morning over southern Michigan, which will lower the total snow amount left on the ground by midday Wednesday.
