Seven people died in a plane crash in North Carolina this week, including one man with ties to the Northstate.

A family member has revealed a heartbreaking final text she received moments before a plane crash killed former NASCAR star Greg Biffle and his family. Cathy Grossu, the mother of Biffle’s wife Cristina Grossu Biffle shared the message with People.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said seven people were killed in the crash, and NASCAR confirmed the dead included Biffle, his wife Cristina and children Ryder and Emma. Also dead were Dennis Dutton and his son Jack Dutton, and Craig Wadsworth.
