Lightbridge and Oklo have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for fuel fabrication facilities and advanced fuel recycling.

Lightbridge Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oklo, which will explore the feasibility of co-locating a commercial Lightbridge fuel fabrication facility at Oklo’s site and identify ways to collaborate on recycling nuclear waste.

Two much-watched advanced nuclear fuel technology companies—Oklo and Lightbridge—will consider co-locating their commercial metallic fuel fabrication facilities to explore synergies and potentially accelerate innovation across the nuclear supply chain.

Oklo (NYSE:OKLO) said Tuesday it signed a memorandum of understanding with Lightbridge (LTBR) to conduct a feasibility study to co-locate a Lightbridge commercial-scale fuel fabrication facility at Oklo's proposed commercial fuel fabrication plant and to explore ways to recycle nuclear waste.

Shares of Oklo Inc. (OKLO) and Lightbridge Corp. (LTBR) surged more than 5% in pre-market trade on Tuesday after the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on advanced fuel recycling.
