Donald Trump has blamed the US, and more specifically Joe Biden, for Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. The president-elect was outlining his plan for his second administration on Tuesday when he decided to express some sympathy with the Russian dictator almost three years after Putin began the bloody war.

President-elect Donald Trump, on Jan. 7, blamed the outgoing U.S. President Joe Biden for Russia's all-out war against Ukraine. Trump said Biden's support of Ukraine's NATO membership had led to Russia's war against the country.

President-elect Donald Trump has expressed sympathy with Russia's position that Ukraine should not join NATO, speaking at a news conference at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida on Tuesday. The incoming president criticised the Biden administration's stance on Ukrainian NATO membership,

"I could understand their [Russia's] feelings about that," U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said during a Jan. 7 press conference.

His statement echoes controversy caused by Trump's suggestion that Russia’s invasion was provoked by Ukraine’s aspirations to join NATO. US President-elect has recently stated that he "understands" Russia’s concerns over Ukraine’s NATO bid and blamed the Biden administration for escalating the conflict.
