San Francisco Giants pitcher Landen Roupp has been placed on the 15-day injured list with left knee inflammation after he was hit by a batted ball and carted off the field in his most recent start.

Giants pitcher Landen Roupp, who was carted off the field Wednesday with a left knee injury, was placed on the 15-day IL with what manager Bob Melvin said is a "pretty good bone bruise."

But his addition to the roster to start Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers was necessitated by another injury to Landen Roupp. Earlier in the summer, the productive right-hander was dealing with inflammation in his right elbow.
