At least 37 attorneys general for US states and territories are taking action against xAI after Grok generated a flood of nonconsensual sexual images of women and minors.

X.AI Corp. failed to implement safeguards that would prevent the creation and proliferation of thousands of non-consensual deepfake images on X, formerly known as Twitter, a class action suit alleged.

Subscribers to X’s premium service can still use Grok to edit and create other AI-generated images that adhere to the company’s terms of service, it said.
