Killian Hayes, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons, has reportedly signed a 10-day contract with the Brooklyn Nets.

Hayes has been out of the NBA since the Pistons cut him in early February, 2024, ending an underwhelming four seasons for the No. 7 pick of the 2020 draft. Hayes averaged 8.1 points and 5.2 assists in 210 games for the Pistons while shooting 38.2 percent from the field.

ESPN's Shams Charania was the first to report Hayes's new contract with the Nets. Hayes signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Nets before this season and has played for the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn's G-League affiliate, since the regular season tipped off.

The Brooklyn Nets have undergone significant roster changes this season, with multiple trades and departures. Dorian Finney-Smith and Maxwell Lewis were dealt to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for guard D’Angelo Russell, while Brooklyn also reached a buyout agreement with forward Ben Simmons.

The Brooklyn Nets thanks Bojan Bogdanovic for his time with the team after being waived, but he didn't play in a single game for them.
