The National Weather Service has issued multiple advisories warning residents in Louisville and surrounding areas to brace for incoming cold weather. The agency issued a Winter Weather Advisory to be active from 1 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and a Cold Weather Advisory that will be in effect 7 p.m. Sunday through 1 p.m. Monday for Louisville.

A winter storm watch is active in southern Kentucky until late Friday night as much of the commonwealth is expected to receive more snow Friday.

The National Weather Service says colder temperatures are headed toward Louisville in the next few days with some precipitation is also likely.
