Wyandotte fire officials held a press conference Wednesday afternoon after two workers were saved following a hole collapse on Tuesday evening.

Wyandotte's Fire Chief Jeremy Moline says rescue crews have pulled two people from an apparent hole collapse at a home on Tuesday evening.

In one week, two workers died in a trench collapse in Maryland, two were rescued in Michigan, and a Tennessee contractor was fined after a trench death.

(FOX 2) - Two men were rescued after a trench they had dug to do sewer work in the backyard of a Wyandotte home collapsed. While one worker was able to escape shortly after the collapse, it took hours to rescue the other worker. The Wyandotte fire chief will speak on the incident at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

Sen. Elissa Slotkin delivered the Democratic rebuttal to President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress on Tuesday night. Speaking from Wyandotte, Michigan, Slotkin acknowledged the desire of American voters for change.

FOX 2 - A large Downriver drug bust seized an estimated $50,000 of street drugs in Southgate and Wyandotte Wednesday. The Metro Narcotics Enforcement Team seized 1.2 kilograms of cocaine, an amount of oxycodone pills, and two handguns using search warrants in locations in both communities.
