Some are starting to question what the Philadelphia Eagles might look like throughout the remainder of the season, and whether they have an opportunity to make the NFC Championship Game.
After they beat the Detroit Lions on Nov. 16, the Eagles had a chance to clinch the NFC East against the Chicago Bears on Nov. 28 if they could beat the Dallas Cowboys five days earlier, followed by a Cowboys loss to the Chiefs on Nov. 27.
Sirianni and the Eagles have become notoriously conservative when they have the ball approaching halftime, but for next to no benefit.
After Week 9 of the season, the Philadelphia Eagles looked to be running away with the NFC East at 6-2. The Dallas Cowboys were three games back at 3-5-1.
Again, according to NFL.com, the Eagles currently have a 21% chance of getting the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs. Only the Rams (9-2) have a better chance, at 54%. It should be noted that the Eagles beat the Rams 33-26 on Sept. 21, so the Eagles would have the first tiebreaker should both teams finish with the best record in the NFC.
The Eagles have been the best team in the NFC East all season, and nothing seen over the past two weeks has really changed that.
Again, according to NFL.com, the Eagles currently have a 41% chance of getting the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs. Only the Rams (8-2) have a better chance, at 42%. It should be noted that the Eagles beat the Rams 33-26 on Sept. 21, so the Eagles would have the first tiebreaker should both teams finish with the best record in the NFC.
A 14-game slate highlights NFL Week 14, including a number of key divisional matchups. In an important NFC North battle, first place will be on the line when the Chicago Bears visit the Green Bay Packers.
