The Pittsburgh Steelers are officially out of contention the 2024 AFC North title as of Week 18, as the Baltimore Ravens managed a 35-10 win over the Cleveland Browns to kick off Saturday’s doubleheader.
The Bills have locked up the No. 2 seed in the AFC. The Denver Broncos (9-7), Miami Dolphins (8-8) and Cincinnati Bengals (8-8) are fighting for the final playoff berth to earn a date in Buffalo in the wild-card round.
The Buffalo Bills clinched the No. 2 seed in the 2024 AFC playoff picture with their dominant win over the New York Jets on Sunday, meaning the Pittsburgh Steelers cannot face them in the first round of the postseason.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are going through their worst stretch of the 2024 season. Currently the team is riding a three-game losing streak, and none of the group's losses have been very competitive.
With the Ravens winning the AFC North title on Saturday, the Steelers opponents for the 2025 season are officially set.
Based on the yearly rotation, the Bills are playing the four teams from the AFC North and NFC South divisions in 2025, and because they won the AFC East again, they get a first-place schedule.
After clinching the #2 seed in the AFC on December 29, the Bills will play the AFC’s #7 seed at home in the first round of the 2025 NFL playoffs.However, with the playoffs less then two weeks away, Buffalo still does not know who their competition will be round one.
As a result, the Steelers' potential opponents are now limited to the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans, and Baltimore Ravens. Pittsburgh will be locked into the No. 3 overall seed if they win the AFC North, which they would do with a Ravens loss to the Browns and a win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Buffalo Bills have been preaching takeaways, and it’s working. With one regular-season game to go, they hold the NFL’s best turnover margin, with a plus-23 differential.

Bernard's absence, coupled with Baylon Spector on injured reserve, means undrafted rookie Joe Andreessen will see a lot of action against the New England Patriots on January 5. Andreessen, who didn't enter until the fourth quarter, finished the Week 17 win as the team's leading tackler.
Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns will play the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18. The Browns are already out of the playoffs, and a loss will improve their position in the upcoming draft, but their star defensive player is still eyeing a win.
