The Maple Leafs appeared to get some positive news on the injury front Monday as Chris Tanev took part in practice wearing a regular black jersey. The veteran blueliner had previously been skating in a non-contact jersey. He has not played since being stretchered off the ice on Nov. 1 in a game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Maple Leafs have leaned on Morgan Rielly and Oliver Ekman-Larsson to man their top pairing, with Tanev and fellow defenseman Brandon Carlo also sidelined of late.
