Boston Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow said he believes there is a "real chance" his team is better after trading Rafael Devers.

Fed up, the Red Sox traded Devers and the entire $250 million that remains on his 11-year, $331-million contract extension for left-handed starter Kyle Harrison, who promptly was optioned to Triple-A, plus injured right-hander Jordan Hicks, High-A ball outfielder prospect James Tibbs III and rookie ball pitcher Jose Bello.

The Yankees (42-28), who entered the series off a three-game sweep of the Royals in Kansas City, were held to five hits on Sunday and have totaled five runs in their last four games. They have helped give life to the Red Sox (37-36), who have won eight of their last 10, including the last five against the Yankees.
