JERUSALEM, Jan 30 (Reuters) - Israel will reopen the Rafah border crossing on Sunday for people to travel between Gaza and Egypt, a government agency said, the first opening of effectively the sole route in or out of the Palestinian territory since May 2024.
Gaza’s government urged its more than 40,000 civil servants and security personnel to cooperate with the Palestinian technocratic body with U.S. oversight that is meant to exclude Hamas.
With all Israeli hostages now recovered from Gaza, there's a push for the Israel-Hamas peace plan to move to phase-two, but that brings its own challenges.
Additionally, according to the IDF, throughout the war, 112,000 aid trucks were brought into Gaza, including 1,700,000 tons of food and 1,800,000 tents and tarpaulin covers.

Israel agreed to return 15 Palestinian bodies for each hostage recovered, according to the ceasefire terms. It’s unclear if the bodies released Thursday were of Palestinian detainees who died in Israeli custody or bodies taken from Gaza by Israeli troops during the war.
