An investigation is underway after a deadly shooting Monday afternoon in a Birmingham alley. The shooting happened at 4:49 p.m. in the 4000 block of Terrace G. Police and Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service responded to the alley, which is off busy Avenue I, and found the victim unresponsive in an alley. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The TBI said Memphis officers approached a large group of people in the parking lot of a business. As an officer exited his squad car, state authorities said Cook drove his vehicle "aggressively toward the officer" and hit him.
