Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with China’s top diplomat on Tuesday in a sign of easing tensions after a yearslong standoff between the nuclear-armed neighbors.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is on a two-day visit to India. This is his first trip since the disengagement process along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) was completed in November last year. During his visit, he will attend the 24th round of talks between the Special Representatives of India and China on boundary issues.
Experts believe this may soften US tariffs on India and strengthen the Indian economy, highlighting India's strategic autonomy amidst increasing Russian oil imports despite Western sanctions.
As Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is all set to visit India, his itinerary includes a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Chinese diplomat will arrive in New Delhi on Monday
