US President Donald Trump has said his administration will supply Patriot missile systems to Ukraine to help counter intensifying Russian attacks, but made clear Kyiv must bear the cost.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently said his country was close to finalising an agreement for more Patriot systems and missiles.

The announcement comes amid a diplomatic flurry set for later on Monday, with the US special envoy starting his latest trip to Ukraine and the president due to meet with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
