GURNEE, Ill. - A Wisconsin woman was charged in connection with a shooting at a north suburban hotel on Thanksgiving. The shooting, which police said was a targeted domestic incident, took place outside the hotel near Grand Avenue and Interstate 94 in Gurnee, according to the Gurnee Police Department.

Officers with the Superior Police Department, responding to a report of a domestic dispute, initiated a traffic stop near North 37th Street and Tower Avenue at around 2:44 a.m., the Wisconsin Department of Justice said in a news release Sunday afternoon. During the stop, the driver exited the vehicle and shot the officer.
