The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed Friday the strong wind event that swept through Boyle Heights on Christmas Day was indeed a tornado.
A flood watch remained for the Bay Area after the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning overnight until 6 a.m.
Los Angeles County was placed under a tornado warning by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 10:20 a.m. The warning is in effect until 10:45 a.m.
"That's why we do it. The idea of spotting is to give early warning to people, give them a chance to seek cover," said storm spotter Laszlo Laky.
