The Aurora area spent Sunday cleaning up after storms rumbled through the Fox Valley on Saturday. The region had a series of severe thunderstorms move through the area Saturday from southern DeKalb County to southern Kane County and Kendall County, with the stormy weather continuing into the early morning hours of Sunday.

Cindy Sanchez, 47, of Fort Worth, Texas, was arrested and charged with two counts of kidnapping two counts of child abduction and two counts of unlawful restraint, all felonies. She was taken to Kane County Jail where she is being held until her pre-trial hearing.

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — A man convicted in June of shooting two teenagers July 2023 in Aurora was sentenced Friday afternoon. Orest Schur was convicted by an Adams County jury of second-degree murder in the death of Xavier Kirk, 14. Schur was also convicted on a charge of attempted second-degree murder related to the case.

A suspect in a double shooting in Aurora turned himself in to police and is now facing attempted murder and weapons charges, authorities said.

The shooting took place in the 500 block of Station Boulevard just after 6 a.m. Sunday, according to authorities. When Aurora police arrived on the scene, they found that two victims had been shot near a basketball court in the neighborhood. Both were transported to a nearby hospital, and the suspect, Conley, had fled the scene.

A woman was arrested at Midway Airport after allegedly kidnapping two children and trying to bring them to their father in Mexico, authorities stated.

The fire was called in Tuesday evening near East 7th Avenue and North Norfolk Way, according to Aurora Fire Rescue. In total, 14 units from AFR and Falck Rocky Mountain responded to the call.

East Aurora Police are trying to identify the man who was seen taking the hat off an elderly man outside of Main and Hamlin last week.
