Former University of Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley has joined the GOP primary to decide who will go on to challenge Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff. Dooley announced his campaign with a video message Tuesday morning.

Dooley was the wide receivers coach for the Cowboys from 2013-17, working with Dez Bryant and other receivers.

The more bruising the primary is, the more difficult it will be to ultimately win the general election,” a political expert said.
