A McDonald's worker used a "knife longer than 3 inches" and she allegedly stabbed her manager "up to possibly as many as 15 times," causing her death, according to an assistant prosecutor.
One woman is dead and another in custody after a dispute between a worker and a manager at an Eastpointe McDonald’s restaurant erupted into violence Thursday morning, according to police. Eastpointe police were dispatched to the fast-food eatery on Nine Mile Road at Schroeder Avenue about 8 a.m. in response to reports of a stabbing and shots fired.
On Tuesday, Kimberley Horen, 55, of Eastpointe, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault and battery, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office. Horen was initially charged in May.
Kimberley Horen, 55, of Eastpointe, pleaded guilty in the 38th District Court to a count of assault and battery, a 93-day misdemeanor, Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said Wednesday in a statement. She is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 16, according to court records.
Eastpointe and Macomb County officials celebrated the completion of a $1.8 million affordable housing project Thursday afternoon with a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony.
