The U.S. Marshals Service confirmed Carlos Quintana, a suspect in a deadly shooting, was taken into custody Thursday night.

The U.S. Marshals Service said the man hid in the ductwork under the home, saying it was a challenge to get him out.

The seven-day operation, which could extend beyond a week, is aimed at boosting public safety, a White House official said.
