By Tony Maglio ESPN wants to absolutely own the news cycle tomorrow when it and Fox launch their semi-competing/semi-collaborative new streaming apps. To that end, ESPN is moving up its rights-takeover date for WWE’s premium live events (PLEs) from 2026 to one month from today,

"If WWE’s as big time as they say they are, they can advertise their shows majorly with their roster, instead of celebrities" 🤷

Earlier this month, it was announced that WWE and ESPN reached an agreement for the broadcaster to become the exclusive home of premium live events starting in 2026. The deal reportedly was for a whopping total of $1.625 billion over five years, with an annual value of $325 million.
