May 8, 2020 · I’d like a 4th gen but it’s hard to find a good deal in my budget. So now I’m looking at 07-09 3rd gens. I see all the benefits (6.7 reliability, pre def, modern comforts that a 2nd gen just doesn’t have, and not much less power than an older 4th gen).

Jun 28, 2013 · 2nd gen seats are way more comfortable than 03-05, cloth especially, but even the leathers were nicer. 3rd gen rides marginally better if it's not a 4x4 dually. Brakes are night and day, 3rd gens stop on a dime with a heavy enough leg(or 2), handling is on rails with the proper front end parts and 09+ steering.
