Mola molas, or Ocean Sunfish, are seen off the coast of Cape Cod around this time of the year. Mola molas are typically observed sun-bathing at the ocean's surface with their large dorsal fins flopping out of the water. These fins can be seen from the shore and are commonly mistaken for white shark fins.
