EL NIÑO SOUTHERN OSCILLATION (ENSO) 101... "FLAVORS OF LA NINA AND EL NIÑO" DID YOU KNOW? There are different types of ENSO Events (i.e. different flavors of El Niño and La Niña)? We are all used to the traditional La Niña which is an East Pacific La Niña. This one brings drought to Southern California while the Northwestern USA sees floods and major storms such as Atmospheric River storms. Sometimes Northern California sees it.
