An impromptu visit to La Vega Estate in Gran Couva, Trinidad resulted in a mini tour where owner, Mr. Bertram Manhin was gracious enough to let us sample some of his fruits. We tasted two types of dragon fruit, the red which is known as Hylocereus and the yellow, Selenicereus. We also sampled Lipote or Syzygium Curranii which is a tart but semi sweet berry and is a relative to Pommerac.
