Peggy Lee’s last recording session with Benny Goodman took place in New York City the day before the AFM Recording Ban of 1942 - the longest strike in entertainment history - went into effect. July 30th, 1942 was a moment in history shadowed by the Second World War. “Let’s Say A Prayer,” a song written by a piano player from Boston, Charles Farrow, suited the mood.
