For ALL women out there trying to graduate to bigger strength moves like dips, pull-ups, push-ups, barbells and beyond … you can get there by going slower & “half stepping” the movement in negative reps. This is what I call “half-stepping” a movement by using what we call negative reps. Essentially it makes you slow down the eccentric phase of the movement (where you recruit 3x the amount of the muscle tissue!) to groove your strength pattern of the skill you’re trying to get stronger at. Just jump up so your chin reaches over the bar and lower yourself as slowly as possible.
