Decorating the South Dakota Tree at the Capitol building is a huge honor! We are proud to celebrate the Great Plains Zoo’s 60th anniversary with a tree representing many of the species that call our zoo and Butterfly House & Aquarium campuses home. Creating dozens of hand-painted ornaments, as well as a majestic lion tree topper and handmade tree skirt, took the GPZ/BHA team months to complete.
