I kept a stickleback in a tank a few years ago and was great to watch it nest building, I don't tend to mix them with other fish as depsite the size they are aggressive buggers and rip other fish to bits! I might set up a seperate tank for one again this year. | Jack Perks Wildlife Media

The three-spined stickleback is a feisty species in the stickleback family, even though they are only 5cm long when fully grown! They are a fierce aquatic carnivore, and play a huge role in eating the mosquito and midge larvae in the UK. In this video they are eating a small chunk of crab meat! They are found in wetland areas across the UK and Europe, in both freshwater and coastal areas. You might even find them when pond dipping! #Wetlands | WWT Slimbridge Wetland Centre
