Smily our female opossum gave birth a few weeks ago. When the baby opossum are born they are as big as a pea. Upon birth the mother will wetten the fur with her tongue from where the babies came out to her pouch. The babies will then swim up that furry river and enter the pouch and then attach to one of her eleven to thirteen nipples.There they will stay and suckle for three weeks.
